Hi! It's 2025 and I finally have a fire under my butt to actually get my crafting-self together. Purely coincidental that this feeling is here at the beginning of the new year, but I'm grateful for all the goal setting ideas I'm seeing online. One of which is a 2025 Stash Down that I'll share more about soon.
But the real preface to this list is this: I don't have tons of experience. I'm not an influencer, nor any kind of recognizable name in sewing or crochet. A lot of the people I follow and like to read about aren't. I just want to see what people are making, so I thought people would like to see what I'm making, too. It's just me, my notebook, my yarn, and a laptop. Also, for my own selfish reasons, I just want to write more this year. And I can write about crafts and art for hours. So with no further adieu:
Stash Down!
- Buy no yarn in 2025
- Use the yarn I have by making gifts and practical projects
- Organize my yarn by type
Long-form Posting!
- Let go of the idea that every post has to be a short video
- Explore photography
- Write about the process
Patterns!
- Write and upload both free and paid patterns
- Use more patterns from all kinds of creators to get a feel for other pattern writing styles
- Design a crochet sweater or top
- Set up my first pattern test as a designer
Sewing!
- Work through my ever growing mending pile
- Make some new clothes
- Scrap projects (to eat up my scraps)
This is my outline of what I'll be working on and writing about this year. But I know myself too well and can't say I will only stick to these items. Like pushing your grocery cart past the clearance bakery shelf, strict list in hand, and thinking Surely I couldn't have accounted for this! It just wouldn't be fair if I didn't get at least a few things....After all, it's on sale....
